JoEd Noel, age 77, formerly of Petersburg, passed away on April 8, 2025, at his home in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada. Arrangements under the personal care of the Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada.
JoEd was born on January 31, 1948, in Plainview, Texas to Ed and Ruth Noel. He grew up on a dairy farm where he gained his love for the land. JoEd married Belinda Covington in 1980. JoEd farmed and ranched for over 50 years. He loved farming more than anything in the world, had dreams about farming, tractors, and plows. JoEd was generous with his time, helping others with their crops and as well as with his money, giving to various charities and organizations. He supported the youth by participating in livestock events, Texas Boys Ranch, Les Feldick Ministries and Samaritan's Purse. JoEd served two terms on the Petersburg School Board as well as the Petersburg Coop Gin board. He had a beautiful tenor voice and was asked to sing everywhere he went. JoEd was opiniated and would argue with a fence post. He wanted a simple, not fancy, graveside out in the open and sunshine; not wanting the guys pulled from their work in the field messing with him for half a day.
JoEd is survived by his wife, Belinda Noel, of 44 years, of Plainview, Texas, his children Shelly Thrasher of Plainview, Texas, Jody Bussey of Windthorst, Texas, his brother, Johnny Noel and wife Debbie of Petersburg, Texas, five grandchildren and five and half great grandchildren with one on the way.JoEd was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Ruth Noel and his son, Chad Noel.
Pallbearers serving the family are Brendon Thrasher, Cody Thrasher, Kirk Collins, Braden Graves, Heston Graves, and Myles Ramsey.
