Joel Franklin Engles Jr.

Joel Franklin Engles Jr., 37, departed this world and woke up victoriously in Heaven on Saturday, September 7, 2024 in Lexington, Kentucky. Throughout his 8-year battle with brain cancer, Joel remained the strong, resolute, and faithful man known by his family and friends. Born on November 27, 1986 in Memphis, Tennessee to Frances Cartwright Engles and Joel Franklin Engles Sr., Joel grew to be a true renaissance man. He earned bachelor's degrees in journalism from Florida Atlantic University and hospital administration from Northwood University. He furthered his education with a master's degree in healthcare administration from Central Michigan University.
His pursuit of love brought him to Kentucky with his wife as their careers, adventures, and family grew. Joel was a natural leader whose confidence strengthened those around him at play and at work. He was a respected Toyota Group Leader in Assembly II at TMMK. He loved to play golf, train at the gym, and break the speed limit in his favorite red Corvette. He treasured his wife and daughter fiercely and was devoted to his friends. He was a loving dog dad to his English bulldog Kazmaier and always cheered for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team.
Joel will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Casey Marie Allen Engles, their daughter Georgia Brooks Engles, his parents, Frances and Joel Sr., and the friends he cherished - his band of brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, September 17, 2024 with Visitation beginning at 11:00am. Both will take place at Southland Christian Church's Wayne Smith Chapel, 5001 Harrodsburg Road, Nicholasville, Kentucky, 40356. Brother Kevin Comp will be officiating, and a recording will be uploaded to the Tucker, Yocum & Wilson page for Joel following the service.
