Richard Buchanan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home on Feb. 11, 2026.
Richard William Buchanan, a beloved father, brother, and son, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Georgetown, Kentucky. Richard was born in Paris, Kentucky to the late Ray "Buck" Buchanan and Saydee Lanter Buchanan on July 20, 1969. Richard was a talented self-employed carpenter whose skilled hands could craft just about anything from wood. His strong work ethic and dedication were evident in everything he built and every task he undertook.

Above all, Richard cherished his family. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life - riding motorcycles, casting a line while fishing, and spending time outdoors soaking up the warmth of the sun. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love for those closest to him, and the craftsmanship that reflected both his talent and heart.

Richard will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Daniel (Cheyene Gaines) Buchanan and Kase Buchanan. He is also survived by his five siblings: Allen Buchanan, James Wilburn, Frankie "Tubby" Buchanan, Dana Buchanan and Bertha Stakelin. As well as his three grandchildren, Peyton Buchanan, Parker Buchanan, and Miley Buchanan. And lastly. His beloved and devoted girlfriend of 25 years, Saskia Maley.

He was proceeded in his passing by his parents.

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home.

Friends and family are encouraged to leave memories and messages of condolence here on Richard's Tribute Wall.
