Robert Kozachik Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home on Feb. 21, 2026.
Robert Steven "Bob" Kozachik, 62, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Bob was born in Portland, Michigan, to the late Tresia Fox Kozachik and Steven Robert Kozachik on October 24, 1963. His mom, Tresia, died when Bob was young, but his father later remarried. Marie Agnes Vezina began as a step mom but eventually adopted he and his siblings as her own. Bob attended Lakewood High School in Lake Odessa, Michigan. After the family moved, he attended and graduated with Grand Ledge High School's Class of 1981. Bob attended the Lansing Community College and kept an attitude for learning throughout his life. He was always a happy and positive person. Bob was a personal trainer for many years. His goal was to help develop athletes through body, mind, and spirit. Bob also worked in self-storage management. He met his future wife of nearly 20 years, Leslie Gregory Kozachik, while working in Lexington. They were longtime members of Crossroads Church in Lexington and most recently attended Victory Life Church in Georgetown. Bob loved to play cards, especially Spades. During the past few years and his recent illness, Friday nights were reserved for cards with their neighbors Tommy and Kay Cannon in Centerville, Bourbon County. Bob had two dogs that he adored, Little Jack and Biscuit.

Bob will be forever in the hearts of his wife, Leslie; his kids, Curtis Simpson of Richmond, Josh Hinton of Owensboro, Mason (Raegan) Hamilton of Perryville; his grandchildren, Johnathon Michael Vandeleur, Jonathan Hinton, both of Illinois, Haleigh Anne Martin, Weston Hamilton, Tatum Elizabeth Mae Hamilton, all of Kentucky; his brother Harold Bouchard; his sisters, Yvonne (Brent) Clark, Lynda (Dan) Pike, Brenda (Allen) Savage, Cecelia Bouchard, Wanda Davids; three nephews nearby in Kentucky, Justin (Keiko) Warner, Alex (Kelsea) Gregory, Matt (Stacy) Gregory, Lance Blakley; several nieces and nephews, in other states; two great nephews, Oliver, and August; his father in law, Hilary Skees; a brother in laws, Eric (Cheryl) Gregory, Kelley (Karey) Skees; and a sister in laws, Alisha (Wayne) Blakley, Hilary Lynn Larson. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; his sisters, Laurie Bouchard, and Catherine Bouchard; his mother in law, Sue Skees; and his loving dog, Jack.

Memorial Services for Bob will be on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home, 320 West Main Street, Georgetown, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Memorial will begin at 7:00 pm with Pastor Griff Ray officiating.

The family would like to thank Dr. Shawn Peterson and staff at Baptist Health Cancer Center in the Main Hospital on Nicholasville Road in Lexington, and Kimberly Gray, PA-C, his Primary Care Provider in Lexington. They are so grateful for the compassionate care Bob received through his illness.

Friends and family are encouraged to share their condolences, memories, and photos here on Bob's tribute wall.
