Joel Mahlon Gordon, 53, of Hamilton, Ohio, formerly of Knoxville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, June 28th, 2025.
Joel was born in Galesburg, Illinois, on August 17, 1971, the son of Michael Mahlon and Marian "Joy" (Buckert) Gordon. He married Tonya Jo Harshbarger on August 14, 1993.
He was a graduate of Knoxville High School, attended Western Illinois University
and earned his bachelor's degree in science in Information Technology from Western Governors University. Joel was employed as the Information Technology Infrastructure Manager at Butler Tech for several years.
Joel survives by his loving wife of 31 years, Tonya Jo Gordon, of Ohio and his cherished, adult children, Connor Mahlon (Gillian) Gordon and Madison Jo Gordon. He is also survived by his mother, Marian "Joy" Gordon of Galesburg and his brother, Steve (Teresa) Gordon of Knoxville. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael.
Joel's wishes were to be cremated. A local Memorial service will begin at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at James Knox Park, Knoxville, the round west side shelter close to the old school.
As well as a Celebration of Life for everyone, will be held on his birthday, Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 W. Alex-Bell Road, Dayton, Ohio. 45459.
