Obituary of Joel I. Hunt
Joel I. Hunt, 68, of Fairfield Township was taken from this world on October 11, 2025, and is now resting in heaven with his Lord and Savior. Born March 4, 1957, in Somerset, PA he is the son of the late John and Gloria (Powell) Hunt. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Karen L. Hunt, and is father to Jessie Rose (Clint) of Dilltown, Ryan Hunt (Jordan) of Fairfield Twp and Zachary Hunt & fiancée Joyce Heming of Homer City. Joel will be remembered as the fun-loving and playful Poppop to Austin, Isaiah & Autumn Rose and Nash Hunt. He is brother to Timothy Hunt (Sylvia), Stacy Hunt, John Hunt (Debbie), Eric Hunt, Darryl Hunt (Vanessa) and Christin Buzzinotti.
Joel enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids and was known for his deep fondness for his animals, who were more than pets. He leaves behind his bird Sunny, who was his best friend of recent years and went with him everywhere. Joel loved to dabble and wore many hats throughout his life, from auto-body to carpentry to pastoring, teaching and serving in ministry. He kept a small company of close friends and enjoyed having both deep and light-hearted conversations. He will be sorely missed.
His closest friends and family will gather privately in his memory. There will be no public viewing or services.
