Joel H. Pfeiffer, age 80, of Argonne, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 11, 2023. He was born April 16, 1943, in Crandon to the late Harry and Mrytle (King) Pfeiffer.
He was a 1961 graduate of Crandon High School. Following high school, he earned a Master of Education from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. His teaching career began in Clintonville teaching middle schoolers and coaching after-school sports such as basketball and football. After several years teaching in Clintonville, a middle school teaching position opened in Crandon; the opportunity was awarded to Joel. He was grateful to return to his hometown and serve his local school district. His education career spanned over 30 years.
Joel was an avid Wisconsin sports fan always supporting the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and Bucks. He enjoyed attending Brewer games with his Niece, Tiffany, and her family. He spent countless hours at his cabin north of Argonne, preparing for deer season, or just enjoying nature. Joel's time and dedication to the Argonne Fire Department will always be remembered. He served as a volunteer on the department for over 25 years. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. His faith in God was unwavering and devotion to family, friends and community was unrelenting.
Survivors include his niece, Tiffany (Erik) Lorenz of Mukwonago and their children Brendan and Owen, brother-in-law, Robert Ferris, close friend, Dan Thomaschefsky, and family, as well as many friends and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Lorraine Ferris and niece, Brigette Zoeller.
Services will be held Friday, November 17, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crandon. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until services begin at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Samuel Pappenfuss will preside over services. Interment will be at Crandon Lakeside Cemetery.
