Joetta (Jo) Wigdahl peacefully entered rest on March 25th, 2024, in Chico, California at the age of 85.
Jo was born in Colton, California on May 4th, 1938, to William Ernest Mashburn and Leota Marie Mashburn.
Jo and Gerry Wigdahl have lived in the Orland, California area since 1992. Jo was a member/volunteer in many organizations including the Capay and Orland Women's Improvement Club, Friendly Garden Club, Friends of the Orland Free Library, and the Orland Pantry. She received the Marjorie Keene Service Award in 2019 for volunteer of the year. She also served as Ombudsman in Orland.
Jo is survived by her husband of 58+ years Gerry Wigdahl, her children Tony Gonzalez, Fred Gonzalez, Pam Wigdahl Klein, son-in-law Gary Klein, daughter-in-law Amy Caperello, Grandchildren Alyson Gonzalez, Trevor Gonzalez, Tyler Gonzalez, Laura Klein, and Nolan Klein.
Jo is preceded in death by her daughter Kim Gonzalez, and her two brothers Ernie Mashburn, and Ron Mashburn.
Grandma Jo's love and passion for baking will always be cherished and missed. You could not arrive at her house without being welcomed with a tray of amazing desserts.
Donations in Jo's honor can be made to any of the above organizations in Orland, or to "The Assistance Fund" (tafcares.org). A grant from The Assistance Fund helped pay for prescriptions from a specialty pharmacy.
We want to thank the Enloe Hospital staff for their compassionate and loving care.
A special thanks to her "angel" Maria for Jo's comfort care in her last two days.
Jo's celebration of life will be Saturday, June 1st, 2024 at 2:00pm
Federated Church of Orland
