Johanna Maria Mullaney, 87, of Louisville Kentucky, died September 20th 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was born March 12th, 1938, in Louisville Kentucky to Tim and Martha Brown. Johanna went to Presentation High School and met the love of her life, Marty, while he was home on leave from the Air Force. They soon married and began raising a family. Johanna and Marty were a founding family of St Athanasius parish and remained parishioners their entire life. Johanna retired from Nazareth Nursing Home as the Activities Director. She was most known for her infectious smile, bold laughter and hugs that enveloped your soul.
In addition to her parents, Johanna was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Martin Mullaney Sr, her oldest child, Martin Mullaney Jr, grandson, Scott Anthony Mullaney, a son-in-law Rob Baker, and five siblings.
Johanna is survived by five of her six children, Mike Mullaney (Valeria), Denise Mullaney (Chuck Callahan), Tricia Brumleve (Don), Neil Mullaney (Kristine), Jeanette Baker, twelve grandchildren: Jessi David (Sammi), Charles Mullaney (Shannon), Tyler Mullaney (Amanda), Elynn Mullaney (Austin Graves), Richard West, Jenna Brumleve (Dylan Gordon), Eric Brumleve (Mariana), Kara Lee, Nicholas Mullaney, Brittany Mullaney (Keifer McGugan), Johanna Baker, Matthew Baker and thirteen great grandchildren: Aiden, Brendan, Colin Mullaney; Ashton, Holly, Mia David; Lucas, Liliana, Felix Brumleve; Gibson, Spencer, Finn Mullaney; June Graves.
Visitation will be held Thursday 2:00 – 8:00 PM, September 25th, 2025 at Ratterman Embry Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston HWY, Louisville, KY 40217. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 26th, 2025, at St. Athanasius Church, 5915 Outer Loop Louisville, Ky 40219.
Any memorial gifts are asked to go to St. Athanasius Parish or St. Jude's Children Hospital. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Johanna, please visit our floral store.
