John Joseph Adams

John Joseph Adams, 92, of Rockford, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in his home. He was born on September 19, 1931, the son of Justin and Veronica (Devine) Adams. John married Carol Hocking on February 17, 1951, in Rockford. John was a carpenter, working for Bertel Peterson Plastering in Rockford for many years. He was a member of the Rockford Carpenters Local 792 for over 50 years until his retirement in 2021. He loved to run in marathons, snow ski, scuba dive, swim and enjoyed watching movies, often taking his children with him. John was a long-time member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and most recently, St. Bridget Catholic Church. He belonged to multiple clubs in Rockford.

Predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Gerald Adams.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave, Loves Park with Monsignor Steve Knox officiating, Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of Mass at the church on Tuesday. The Rosary will be recited at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday at the church.
