John Russell Adkins

John Russell Adkins, 69, of Oak Hill, WV, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023. He was born on July 30, 1953, to the late Harnold and Dessie (Toney) Adkins.
John enjoyed watching WVU football and basketball, working in the yard, sprucing up his cars, building things in his workshop, relaxing on the deck, feeding the squirrels, and a cold Coca-Cola.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother Harold "H.J." Adkins, and his wife, Sandra.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children Shawn Adkins of Canonsburg, PA, and his wife Amanda and their children Amelia and Preston; Trista Adkins of Rockville, MD; Eric Adkins of Lower Salem, OH, and his children Shaianna, Brady, Trey, Torri, and Kaila; Melissa Weppler of Williamston, WV and husband Scott and their children Kristianna, Taylor, and Parker; and siblings Harnold "Porky" Adkins, Gary Adkins, Sherry Adkins, and Margie Pemberton all of Oak Hill, WV.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill, WV. In keeping with John's wish, following the service, he will be cremated and interred at a later date in High Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM before the service at the funeral home.
