John R. Anderson (Rob), 75, passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2024, at South Strand Hospital in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Ernestine Anderson. Born February 3, 1949, he is preceded in death by his mother Ernestine, and sister Kathleen Laluna. Raised in Bridgeport, CT, John moved to South Carolina after retiring from Schick after many years of service.
His three children, John R Anderson Jr. (Melisa), Dennis W Anderson (Angela), and Kelley M Anderson (Vincent), seven grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob, Trevor, Kayley, John Thomas, Noah, and Jaxon, and many friends survive him.
John was a Vietnam War veteran. He was a Purple Heart recipient and was awarded the Bronze Star after serving many years in the Army. He dedicated much of his life and time to the Vietnam Veterans of America, DAV, American Legions, VFW, and many other organizations that assist our veterans. He was also a proud member of the Vietnam Veteran Association honor guard.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local veterans organizations in his honor.
Mr. Anderson is entrusted to Kelvin Lewis, the funeral director, and the Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home Staff of Myrtle Beach, SC.
