It appears as though my time on this beautiful, chaotic, and wonderfully unpredictable roller coaster of life has come to an end. Don't grieve for me, rather celebrate my life and remember me for who I was - John Henry Arnholt, a resilient and witty individual born on September 6, 1946 in
Mansfield, OH. I was a dedicated laborer, spending many years working as an electrician at Flexible in Loudonville, Ohio. I won't lie to you, I enjoyed my fair share of gambling and lottery scratch-offs; who doesn't appreciate a bit of excitement in life? I was also known for my knack for tinkering with whatever I could get my hands on. If it was broken or needed fixing, chances are, I was there, figuring out how to put it right back together. As Mark Twain once said, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started."
At heart, I was a simple man from Big Prairie, Ohio. I had my own way of doing things and made sure to take care of things my way. I didn't want to leave burdens for people, especially my grandkids who I helped out a lot. Speaking of which, I was blessed with three wonderful grandkids - Cheyenne, married to Richard Byler, Breanna, married to Trevor Graham, and Dillon Christine. My love for them was immense, even though I might have had a hard time showing it. In the immortal words of Bob Marley, "Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet."
I leave behind my beloved daughter Shannon Arnholt and her husband Steve Christine, my brother Paul Arnholt, and my cherished grandchildren. I am reunited with my parents, Grover and Janice Arnholt, my sister Thelma Phillips, my brother Floyd Arnholt, and my ex-wife Sherry Arnholt.
I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to Lifecare Hospice for their exceptional care during my final days. As I bid adieu, remember me as the man who lived life on his own terms, with a dash of humor and a whole lot of determination. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children...to leave the world a bit better...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
