ATHANAS, John Nikolaos. February 7, 2026. Age 52. Beloved husband of Monica (nee: Marei) for 22 years. Proud and loving father of Nikolaos and Chloe Athanas. Beloved son of the late Nikolaos and Phyllis Athanas (nee: Angelinas) and brother of Connie Cherney (Roger). John was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed golf and following Detroit sports teams. John's family meant everything in the world to him; he loved them unconditionally and cherished the times when his entire family was together. Instate Wednesday 9am until time of 10am funeral at St. John Greek Orthodox Church, 11455 Metropolitan Parkway (w. of Dodge Park), Sterling Heights. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to St. John Greek Orthodox Church are appreciated.
