John Lawrence Baskey, 64, passed away at his Clyde home on November 16, 2023. He was born to Louis and Ruth (Rutan) Baskey on April 8, 1959 in Fremont, Ohio.
John was a 1977 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. After graduating high school, John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country for four years. John retired from Morgan Advanced Materials Fostoria,OH.
Left to honor John's memory are his daughter; Cynthia (DJ) Brown and son; John (Jacob) Baskey, of Fremont. Also surviving are his brother Michael Baskey of Frezno, CA and sister LouAnn (Eaton) Baskey of Elmore. His ex-wife and friend; Jenny Baskey and seven grandchildren, to which he was extremely proud of: Raelyn, Sofia, Jacob, and Braxton Baskey and Deondray, Jamecyn, and Donivyn Brown all of Fremont; as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; David, Phillip, and Paul Baskey and niece; Rachelle Baskey.
John cherished time spent with his family and adored being a Paw Paw. John enjoyed traveling and being outdoors. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. His kind ways and bright smile will be forever missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. Visitation will be held on Monday November 27, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 pm at Hanneman-Keller Funeral Home 416 South Arch Street, Fremont Ohio. Burial will take place at McGormley Cemetery following funeral services.
