John was born April 23, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois. He passed away on November 14, 2025 in Park Ridge, Illinois. He was married to Catherine A. (nee Newmes) on June 11, 1960. John was the father of Susan ( Douglas) Unzicker, Steven (Kathleen) Baumann, Cheryl ( Jeffrey) Galovich and Joseph Baumann. Proud grandfather of 11. Great grandfather of 8. John retired from Jewel food stores as manager after many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and poker. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 19, 2025 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at G. L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois. A 10:00 a.m. funeral mass to follow at St. Mary Catholic Church at 794 Pearson Street, Des Plaines, Illinois. Interment at Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, Illinois. For information please call the funeral home at (847) 699-9003.
