Shirley Ann (Clemons) Baumann, age 84 of Jeffersonville, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Charlestown Place. Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late James and Rosie (Lush) Clemons. Shirley was a dedicated and hardworking woman, spending more than thirty years with Dillard's Department Store in St. Louis, MO, where she built lasting friendships and was admired for her warm smile and cheerful spirit.
Shirley found great joy in life's simple pleasures-digging her hands into the soil of her beloved garden, surrounding herself with vibrant flowers, and creating crafts that she lovingly shared with family and friends. Her creativity and generous heart touched all who knew her. A free spirit at heart, Shirley never turned down a chance to dance when she heard music playing. She loved to travel, embracing every opportunity to explore the world around her, whether it was a road trip across the country or a new adventure in a faraway place.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Baumann; her son, John Long; and her siblings: Ronnie Clemons, Rick Clemons, Donald Clemons, Cheri Blevins, Jim Higdon, Norma Prindergast, Mearl Clemons, and Gene Clemons.
She is survived by her loving siblings: Rose Henry, Bill Higdon, Nell Clark, and Linda Bradley. She will be remembered with love, laughter, and fond memories by all who were blessed to know her.
In keeping with her wishes, Shirley will be cremated. Private graveside services will be held in St. Louis, where she will be laid to rest beside her son, John. There will be no visitation or public services at Scott Funeral Home.
Her light, laughter, and love will continue to bloom in the hearts of those she left behind.
