Ronald R. Carroll, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home in
Jeffersonville, Indiana, on November 14, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born on September 2, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, Ron lived a life defined by dedication, service, quiet generosity, and the unwavering pursuit of the American dream.
A proud graduate of St. Paul High School's Class of 1954, Ron entered the United States Armed Services shortly thereafter, where he discovered his lifelong passion for finance. He graduated from Finance School in 1956 and began what would become an extraordinary 50-year career in banking. In 1960, he stepped into the banking world-a step that would lead him to become the respected and well-loved President of Chase Bank in Jeffersonville. His leadership, integrity, and commitment to those he served earned him admiration throughout the community and the industry.
Ron's professional accomplishments were complemented by active memberships in organizations he held dear, including the American Bankers Association, the American Institute of Banking, the Indiana Bankers Association, the Jeffersonville Elks Club, the Knights of Columbus, and the Masonic Lodge. His career and character reflected the spirit of "The Great American Dream"-a testament to hard work, faith, and determination.
Outside of his professional life, Ron's joys were simple and heartfelt. He was a loyal fan of Providence football and basketball, never missing a chance to cheer on his favorite teams. He deeply loved his family and his cherished Schnauzer, whose companionship brought him daily happiness.
Ron leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Geraldine, who remained steadfast at his side in all of life's seasons. He is also survived by his children: Ronnie Carroll, Tim Carroll, Rose Elizabeth, Cathy Jones-David, Joy Klein, Lydia Arachikavitz (Kevin), Amy Carroll (Brian), Mike Baugh, and Greg Baugh (Grace). Ron's legacy continues through his 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored and supported with quiet pride.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway,
Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with burial afterward at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
Ron had made a pivotal profession of faith in Jesus's Christ death, burial, and resurrection during a trip to India, of which pastor Joel Ragains was witness to, and will describe during the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the
Alzheimer's Association or
American Diabetes Association, both of which were especially meaningful to our family, or to Hosparus Health, whose care and compassion provided comfort to Ron and his family during his final days. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Hosparus team for their kindness, respect, and support.
Ron Carroll will be remembered for his wisdom, his service, his gentle strength, and the profound love he had for his family. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his impact everlasting.
