John Edward Beck
January 16, 1988 – June 5, 2024
Fort Worth, Texas-John Edward Beck, a man of profound faith and boundless love, passed away on June 5, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas, after a brief illness. Born on January 16, 1988, in Fort Worth, John lived a life of unwavering dedication to his faith, his family, and his community.
Baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a child, John achieved the level of Teacher, a role in which he deeply cherished his relationship with his Lord. He embodied the gospel in every aspect of his life, a testament to his devout spirituality and commitment to living a life of virtue and kindness.
John's educational journey began at Gerard Elementary in Cleburne, Texas, and continued through his high school years in Cleburne. After his family moved, he graduated from Bailey Boswell High School in Fort Worth. An exceptional student, John graduated with honors from Texas A&M University, earning a degree in mechanical engineering. His academic achievements were a source of immense pride for his family.
Professionally, John worked for Weir SPM now owned by Caterpillar Incorporated, where he was not only respected for his engineering acumen but also beloved for his warm personality. His colleagues admired him for his ability to make people laugh and his gift for listening. John had an extraordinary talent for helping others work through their problems, always offering a compassionate ear and thoughtful advice.
Family was the cornerstone of John's life. He was a devoted son, sibling, and partner. His parents, Joseph Sr. and Sue Duvall Beck, often spoke of his impeccable character and unwavering obedience, traits that he carried into adulthood. John's greatest honor was reflecting his parents' attributes in his own life. Weekly family nights with his father and mother filled with hiking, dinners, movies and games or workouts at the fitness center, were cherished traditions that strengthened their bond.
John's love extended to his partner, Derrick Dawson, with whom he shared a life filled with mutual support and understanding. Together, they faced challenges with resilience and grace, always finding solutions through careful research and collaboration.
Fitness and outdoor activities were integral to John's life. He frequently worked out with his parents and enjoyed hiking and camping adventures. A lover of music and dance, John was an enthusiastic participant in two-stepping to country tunes and was a proud member of the Texas A&M Aggie Wranglers dance team. His joy for life was also evident in his love for singing karaoke, bringing smiles to those around him.
John maintained lifelong friendships with his college roommates and buddies from Texas A&M, and his colleagues at work held him in high esteem. His generous spirit and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
John is survived by his father, Joseph E. Beck Sr.; his mother, Sue Duvall-Beck; his beloved partner, Derrick Dawson; his sisters, Darlene Beck-Gedge and Pauline Beck-Perry; his brother, Joseph E. Beck Jr.; his sister-in-law Kannika P. Beck and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank P. Beck and Jeanie M. Beck, and DeMar E. Duvall and Pauline J. Duvall.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 5 to 8 PM at Roberts and Martinez Funeral Home, 4200 Denton Highway, Haltom City, Texas. A service to celebrate John's life will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 1 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Saginaw, Texas.
John Edward Beck will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his unending love for his family, and his ability to touch the lives of all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and joy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.

It was my first week at work, he showed around (for days to come) and took me out for lunch. I instantly loved him, and he became my best friend at work.
Eventually he moved in to my office. All I had to do was say, "John," and we would be deep in conversation for hours. Mostly engineering problems, but it could be anything from family to vacations.
I loved working on projects with him, he would take care of everything as he knew I only found the technical parts fun. Everyone on the projects loved him and felt great as he would assume the lead position by being responsible and attentive to all.
I regret not having spent more time with this amazing guy.

You were always a ray of sunshine. I can´t remember a time you didn´t have a smile on your face and lit up any room you walked into.

I will miss your generous heart and occasionally getting to two step with you.

I miss you and I´m still in shock.

My heart is heavy with the lost of John. Derrick would entertain me with funny stories of John. Although I only visited with John once via FaceTime while Derrick and John were driving to Park City, I´ll always will remember his beautiful smile. My prayers are with Derrick and with all those who loved John. Regina
