John August Behring, age 76, of Marion County, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. He was born on October 2, 1948, to Walter Behring and Martine Sparks.
A proud graduate of Monroe City High School, class of 1967, John furthered his education at the University of Missouri and Hannibal LaGrange College. He married Lynda Behymer on June 9, 2007, and together they shared a loving life.
John dedicated many years of his career to production at General Mills. His faith was a cornerstone of his life; he was an active member of Prairie View Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.
John enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was a devoted fan of Cardinal baseball and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, who were his world.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynda Behring;three daughters Nicole Boydston(Justin), Melissa Behring, Crystal Behring; three step-sons, Adam (Jamie), Ryan (April), and Nathan (Joan) Ranabargar; three brothers, Gale (Richelle) Behring, James (Roller) Behring, Gene (Guyla) Behring; two sisters, Mary Lou Smith (David) and Laura Wilson (Marion); three brother in-laws, Lary Smith, Adam Thompson, Mark Behymer(Dereen); twelve grandchildren, Shilo, Levi, Jonah, Maxwell, Emily, Quintin, Mathias, Blake, Pearl, Zander, Alieana, and Alexis; and two great-grandchildren, Nevada and Kingston. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Connie Smith and Jan Thompson, one brother, Donald (Buckshot) Behring, and one nephew, Kelly Behring.
A memorial service will be held at Prairie View Baptist Church in Shelby County, Missouri, on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with Pastor Brandon Snider officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Prairie View Cemetery.
John's warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
