It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Lieutenant John R. Bethune, United States Navy, Retired. He was called home to join our Lord and Savior Friday, June 14, 2024 at age 56. He was born on January 29, 1968, in Manning, South Carolina where his parents, Lee and Emma Jackson provided him with a loving upbringing grounded in faith. John dedicated 32 years of his life to serving in the United States Navy, starting his career immediately following graduation from Manning High School in 1986. John began his career as a Hospital Corpsman and through his hard work and perseverance, he ascended the ranks to retire at the rank of Lieutenant. A testament to his commitment and leadership abilities.
John will be remembered by his family and friends, and for his dedication and strength of character in support of his country and love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of service and devotion that will be remembered by all who loved him
A celebration of John's life will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 4-8pm, at Castle Ridge Mortuary in San Antonio, TX. He will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 10:15am.
