MR. John Willie Bouttry

MR. JOHN WILLIE BOUTTRY a resident of Thomson (McDuffie County), GA for many years entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at his residence. John Willie was born on Wednesday, April 1, 1936, to both the late Inez Bussey Bouttry and Eugene Bouttry in Norwood (Warren County), GA. He was the second of eight siblings born to this union.
Affectionately called "Big John" and or "Papa" by family members and friends, John Willie worked the former Rabun Lumber Company of Thomson, (McDuffie County), GA until its closing and then retired. At an early age he joined the Union Spring Baptist Church in Norwood (Warren County), GA. John Willie loved his family dearly. During his leisure time he enjoyed watching old western movies and wrestling on television. Most other times, he spent building picnic tables and being the local taxi driver for McDuffie County. Although he was a native of Norwood (Warren County), GA, John Willie made Thomson (McDuffie County), GA his home, and he was welcomed with open arms. During his earthy stay, he never met a stranger. He was a man blessed by God to live long enough to bless others with his love. Our beloved John Willie Bouttry "Big John / "Papa" will be missed more than words could say.
In addition to his parents, John Willie was preceded in death by two sons, Rickey Anthony Bouttry and Patrick Deon Bouttry "Hamburger"; six siblings, Leonard Bouttry, Bobby Bouttry, Clifford Bouttry, Eula Brynum, Willie Pearl Hankerson, and Sadie Mae Harris.
Many precious memories will always be remembered by the many loved ones who left to mourn his passing: a loving and devoted daughter, Pamela (Kenneth, Sr.) Robinson of Harlem, GA; an additional daughter, Sylvia Murray of Thomson, GA; one son, Kenneth Mincey of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren, Brittany, Kenya, Kenneth Jr., all of Harlem, GA, Garrison of Grovetown, GA, Rickey Jr., Ty, both of Columbus, OH, Shertekia of Conyers, GA and Shermekia of Duluth, GA; a devoted sister, Veola Hairston of Columbus, OH; a special and caring nephew, Mike Kelley of Hephzibah, GA; a host of loving nieces, additional nephews, other family members and many sorrowing friends.
