John Allen Braatz

John Allen Braatz, age 70 of Grove City, MN, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to First Baptist Church in Grove City, MN.

John was born on November 26, 1952 to Andrew Seymour Braatz and Jeanette Leona (Gibson) Braatz in Litchfield, MN. After high school, he attended Votec Automotive Program in Willmar, MN in 1971. He married the love of his life, Frances Foote on March 26, 1976 in Watertown, SD. Throughout his life, John worked for Moorman’s Feed and GTI Trucking. His real passion was farming. He also loved to fish, ride his bicycle weather permitting, smoking meats on the grill, and playing cornhole with family and friends.

John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Frances Braatz; his children, Paul Braatz of Litchfield, MN, Jason Braatz of Howard Lake, MN, James (Sabrina) Braatz of Pillager, MN, Jody Braatz of Grove City, MN, and Jeffery (Jenny) Braatz of Litchfield, MN; his 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; and his siblings, Stanley Braatz of Henderson, MN, and Jeanne Sellen of Grove City, MN.

John was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Roger Braatz and Donn Braatz.
