John Andrew ("Andy") Brown, 48, of Commerce, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 10, 2024. Born on July 3, 1975, in Statesboro, Georgia, Andy was a cherished member of his community and an ardent supporter of all things sports-related.
After graduating from Athens Academy in 1994, Andy attended the University of Georgia, where he enthusiastically served as the student manager of the men's basketball team from 1995 to 2000 under Head Coaches Tubby Smith, Ron Jirsa, and Jim Harrick. He then went on to work as a Title Searcher and Legal Assistant for the Brown Law Office.
An avid golfer and the biggest UGA fan you could ever meet, Andy's love for sports was only surpassed by his devotion to his family and friends. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend, known for his generous spirit and kind heart.
Andy leaves behind his parents, John Terry and Ann Brown; his sisters, Jennifer Brown of Athens and Ashley Kaelin (Bruno) of Alpharetta; his brother, Benjamin Brown (Julie) of Jefferson; his niece, Lucy Kaelin; his Aunt Jane Roberts; and many loving cousins and friends.
