John Parker Buckingham

John Parker Buckingham, age 86, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1980, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025. He was born on May 7, 1939 in Evanston, IL.
John is survived by his loving children, Michelle J. Buckingham and John P. (Marie) Buckingham, Jr., both of Switzerland; his cherished grandchildren, Matthew John Buckingham and Alexander Parker Buckingham; his brother, Arthur Ward Buckingham, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of almost 60 years, Charlotte, and his parents, Hazel and Arthur Ward Buckingham, Sr.
John grew up in Evanston and graduated from Evanston Township High School. He went on to attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, but took a break to return home. He met and married Charlotte there in Evanston, and following their marriage, they returned to Miami University where John earned his bachelor's degree in finance.
John began his professional career at Merrill Lynch in the research department before transitioning into institutional trading. He enjoyed a long and successful career with the firm, ultimately retiring as a Senior Equity Trader.
A devoted and loving husband and father, family was always John's highest priority. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and had a natural ability to make friends wherever he went. Known for his positivity and warm spirit, John consistently focused on the bright side of life.
John treasured the time he spent in Switzerland, his wife Charlotte's homeland, and will be laid to rest peacefully there with her.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate John's life on Friday, January 2, 11:00 AM at St. John's Episcopal Church, 750 Aurora Ave., Naperville.
