John Buffat

John H."Mr. B" Buffat, 92, died Friday, October 29, 2021. He was born October 5, 1929 to the late George and Florence Buffat.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Ida; granddaughter, Amanda; and sister, Betty.
He is survived by his children; Cindy (Dan), John (Ann), and Barry (Robin), Grandchildren; Jason (Ashley), Scott (Whitney), Whitney (Andrew), Great Grand Children; Cameron, Zoey, Allie Mae, and Isabella, nieces and nephew and their families, Nancy (John) and Terry; his special friend, Betty Ann and her wonderful children; neighbors, friends; and all his Arby's buddies.
John was the former owner of Buffat Plumbing that started in 1924. He was in the Navy, a Sergeant in the Air Force, Air National Guard and past president of the Kentucky and Louisville Plumbing Heating and Cooling Contracting Associations. He was a Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, Shriner and belonged to the American Legion Post 201 and the Airforce Association.
His love of flying never stopped even at the age of 91. He was still able to pilot a plane. A special thank you to our wonderful friends that gave him the opportunity to continue to fly!
Thank you to his great neighbors and friends that treated him like their own dad, taking him places, doing things for him, bringing him food, and checking every day to make sure he was okay. We cannot thank you enough.
Visitation will be on Friday November 5, 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Fern Creek Funeral Home located at 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40291.
Funeral mass is 11:30am Saturday, November 6, 2021 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2141 Lancashire Avenue, Louisville, KY 40205 with burial following in Resthaven Memorial Park.
