John Robert Burr was welcomed into this world on August 17, 1978 to Bryan Delos and Gayle Nance Burr in Lodi, California. He departed this life on February 11, 2025.
John grew up in Lodi, CA and graduated from Tokay High School in 1996. He then moved to Utah and attended Utah Valley Community College. John took an interest in driving semi trucks, and earned his Commercial Drivers License. He drove semi loads for companies including Andrus, Tropic Ice, and Fed Ex. He worked hard and always tried to ensure his loads were delivered safely and efficiently. John loved being a truck driver! He also worked with his dad on occasion, building houses and working in his wood shop.
John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed living a simple life. John loved getting together with his family, especially his four brothers. They had many inside jokes and adventures, and never missed a birthday lunch together. His kindness shone brightly in his interactions with his sisters, particularly the two with special needs. John was an animal lover at heart. His room was often filled with a menagerie of beloved pets, from ferrets and rats to snakes and guinea pigs.
John is survived by his father Bryan (Sandra) Burr; his brother Jeffrey (Aimee) Burr; his sister Janet (Benjamin) Clegg; his brothers Michael (Annie) Burr, Bradley (Jennifer) Burr, and Gregory (Emily) Burr; and his sister Suzanne Burr. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gayle Nance Burr, and his sister, Sharon Burr. John had such a kind heart and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service for John will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 11:00 am MST, at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Homes & Cremation Center, located at 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah, 84107. A viewing will be held prior to services at 10:00 am.
