John Buscher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home on Sep. 2, 2025.
John W. Buscher, 77, of Menominee Michigan passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 29th. He was born on July 11, 1948 in Marinette, Wisconsin, to the late Ralph and Martha (Lundgren) Buscher. John graduated from Marinette High School in 1966 and went on to earn a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin in 1971. Throughout his distinguished career, John dedicated himself to helping others through his work at Theda Clark Hospital, Menominee County Lloyd Hospital, Marinette General Hospital, Wisconsin Orthopedics and Marquette Home Health.

He had a lifelong passion for cycling and played a big part in the organization and participation of the Menominee River Century Bike Ride for many years. An avid golfer, he was a proud member of the golf team in high school and later achieved the distinction of a hole-in-one. He was also a dedicated cross-country skier and completed the Birkebeiner several times. His mornings often included exercise at the YMCA, and he enjoyed following the Packers and Badgers, watching NASCAR, and caring for his beloved Mustang. He also valued time spent playing cards with friends and sharing fellowship and being involved in singing at his church.

He is survived by Darlene Buscher and their children:

Todd (Candie) and his children Cameron, Conner and Cortney; TJ and his child Tylee; and Tia (Tadd) Russell and their children Taylor and Tayton.

He is also survived by his sister, Ann Buscher; cousins, Mark and Sara Jane Feifarek, David Lundgren, Vicki Levenson; and his dear friend, Gladwin Anderson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6th at Calvary Church at W1498 Hwy 64 in Marinette from 11a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a fellowship lunch afterwards.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Gladwin Anderson, Mel Levin and Cornerstone Caregiving for their support and compassion.

John was my classmate, my professional colleague, a fellow cyclist and skier, but most importantly a longtime friend. I will always have fond memories of the friendship we shared. He will be missed but surely not forgotten.
