John Caprara

John Caprara August 23, 1964- August 16, 2025 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Caprara, who left us far too soon on August 16, 2025. Beloved husband, father, son, brother, cousin and friend whose kindness, humor and loyalty touches all who knew him. John was the devoted husband of Rosemarie Caprara and the proud and loving father of his two daughters, Sophia and Olivia. He was the cherished son of the deceased John and Lois Caprara and beloved son-in-law to Fred and Dora Maffei. Raised in Brooklyn, NY, John attended the Evangelist Grammar School and Bishop Ford High School before continuing his education at the Staten Island Campus of Saint John's University. Always passionate about music and media, John interned for the legendary WXRK (K-Rock). He later fulfilled his dream by opening Soundtrack- a record and CD store in Park Slope, alongside his cousin Tom. After several years of sharing his music, John joined Ruben Warner Associates, Inc. as an account executive, where he remained a valued member of the team until his passing. John's love for music, film, and watches was only surpassed by his devotion to his family. He was Sophia and Olivia's greatest cheerleader and proudly shared their accomplishments with everyone he knew. He cherished the life he built with Rosemarie and the family they created together. John's memory will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him. He will always be remembered for his thoughtfulness, humor, love for family, his ability to recite any Star Trek fact and rap Rapper's Delight in one breath! A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 AM on Thursday, at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
