John E. Carson went home to be with his Savior on December 29, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, John T. Owen, his mother, Clara I. Carson, his adopted father, Ralph M. Carson and his daughter, Leslie A. Soldani. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Diane R. Biwer Carson and brother, Thomas (Lois). Father of Candace (Terry) Knoll, Regina (Greg) Gibson, and Lynn (Ryan) Tucker. Papa to Christi (Nicholas), Brittney, Sean-Michael, Steffanie (Chris), Kimberly (Derrick), Evan, Ethan, Blake, Jacob, Bailey, Brooke, and Amelia. John was uncle, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother-in-law, and cousin to many.
John served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic (jet fighter). He worked as a mechanical draftsman for Westinghouse and an engineer for Rockford and Entergy. He transitioned from engineering to project management when he worked for Southern Environmental after moving back home to Pensacola.
John developed an interest in flying as a crew chief in the Air Force. As a civilian, he pursued and earned his private pilot's license. He had a great passion for cars and motorcycles; he even invented the "Hawg Hiker" motorcycle maintenance lift. He was a lover of music, playing the ukulele, sketching, working out, staying fit and competing as an amateur bodybuilder. He was an avid moviegoer and was even chosen to be an extra for movies like JFK, Interview with a Vampire, and The Kingfisher. He enjoyed taking the family on numerous road trips around the country, and continued traveling with his wife in RV's later in life.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 10:30 am, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South (Beverly Parkway). Burial will follow in Bayview Cemetery (3351 Scenic Hwy. #90E,
Pensacola, FL 32503). Pallbearers will be Terry Knoll, Ryan Tucker, Ethan Boner, Jacob Boner, Sean-Michael Soldani, Randy Spivey, George Biwer, and Bronson Soldani.
