John Bradley Cary, 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024. Born on September 4, 1953, to the late Henry Cary and Allie Waters, John led a life full of love, hard work, and unwavering faith.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, John later became the founder and owner of John Cary Painting Inc., a business that reflected his dedication and work ethic. Beyond his professional accomplishments, John will be remembered for his vibrant passions and deep love for his family and community.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Sullivan, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories. Left to honor his legacy are his son, John Cary (Mary), and his daughter, Kristen Hayes; his cherished granddaughter, Makena; his brother, Jim Cary (Roseanna); and numerous nieces and nephews.

John now rejoins many loved ones in heaven, including his parents, Henry and Allie Cary; his sister, Amanda Kaye Cary Riley; his mother-in-law, Boots Birk; and his sister-in-law, Karen.

John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved working on his farm, hunting, bowling, golfing, and fishing. A proud supporter of the UofL Cardinals and an enthusiastic Yankees fan, John also became known in his community as a skilled tomato farmer—his family fondly boasts that his tomatoes were second to none. Cooking for his family brought him immense happiness, as did his steadfast Christian faith. A devoted member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, John lived as a testament to his belief in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate John’s life at Louisville Memorial Gardens East. The family ask donations be made to Hosparus of Louisville and Hillcrest Baptist Church in honor of John.
