John “J.C.” Castaldo, of New Rochelle, NY, sadly passed away on October 21, 2025, at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.
Born in Mount Vernon, NY, to Thomas and Jennie Castaldo, J.C., was one of two children. He attended Edison Vocational and Technical High School before proudly serving in the United States Army. In 1963, JC began his career as a Police Officer with the Mount Vernon Police Department alongside his lifelong friend Joe Bianco. JC served in the MVPD for 22 years until his retirement in 1985 at the rank of detective. After his retirement he founded his own business, J.C. Fence Company. J.C. also worked as a Security Guard at New Rochelle High School where he developed many new and important friendships.
J.C. was a proud father of five children and married the love of his life, Jackie, in March 1981.
Outside of work, J.C. enjoyed playing and watching sports including baseball, basketball and golf. JC spent many days and nights at Yankee Stadium cheering on his favorite team, the New York Yankees. J.C. also enjoyed sitting around the table at various coffee shops in Pelham, Mount Vernon and New Rochelle talking sports, politics, and world events with friends and sometimes even the random passerby. J.C. had a warm and engaging personality, a great sense of humor, and a large community of friends who will deeply miss him.
He was predeceased by his brother, Ralph (Carmela), his daughter, Kimberly (David) Castaldo Stusse; and his stepson, Jason Burgh.
J.C. is survived by his loving wife, Jackie; his children, Robert (Tracey) Castaldo, Richard (Susan) Castaldo, Janet (Ed) Drnach, and Todd (Patricia) Castaldo; his grandchildren Kate, Karolyn, William, Alayna and Peyton and his great grandchildren, Shankaya, Domenik and Gianna, as well as many friends and extended family who will cherish his memory.
