It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of John Robert Chappell, IV, who left us on November 11, 2024. John was 59 and the fourth child of the late John Robert Chappell, III and Pattie Old Ribble Chappell. A native of Virginia, John graduated from two Ashland schools: Patrick Henry High School in 1983, and Randolf Macon College in 1987 where he earned a BS in Economics and Business. Later he earned an Information Technology Certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University.
John's entrepreneurial spirit and innovative mind led him to create several businesses. He took immense pride in his work, demonstrating a commitment to excellence that was evident to his clients and employees. At the time of his death, he was the owner and Chairman of the Board of eChapps.
Beyond his professional achievements, John's true legacy lies in his commitment to Jesus Christ and his role as a loving husband and father. He cherished his family and worked tirelessly to provide them with a warm and nurturing home. His laughter and kindness will be deeply missed. John will forever be remembered as a remarkable individual who made a lasting difference in the lives he touched. We are comforted knowing that he is in heaven.
Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Michelle Honyoust Chappell, three sons, John Robert Chappell, V, of Lynchburg, Virginia, Michael Thomas Chappell of Laconia, New Hampshire, and Benjamin Watkins Chappell of Greer; one daughter, Joy Ribble Chappell of Greer; one brother, Daniel Chappell (Hoang) of Vallejo, California; and two sisters, Constance Horne (Jim) of Henrico, Virginia and Margaret Wilder (Alan) of Riverton, Wyoming.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to support the ALS Foundation is suggested we will be forever grateful to these organizations for their support in John's time of need. They provided him with technology that allowed him to communicate with his family and other support, making this difficult time bearable.

A private service will be held by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.thewoodmortuary.com.
