John A. Chetta

John A. Chetta, 65, passed away on February 12, 2025 at his home in Norwalk. Born in Norwalk, he was the son of John Chetta and the late Alice Marie Louise Placé.
He started his career working for the State of Connecticut D.O.T., he then continued on as an entrepreneur owning many successful local businesses including Via Roma Italian Deli, the food service cafeteria at NCC, among countless others. He lived life to the fullest and always had smile on his face. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking summer trips to the Jersey shore and spending quality time at the family cabins in Vermont and Massachusetts. He loved hunting, fishing, sports, and helping his father in the garden.
He is survived by his daughter Lauren Chetta DeLuca and her spouse Anthony DeLuca, his son Michael Chetta and his spouse Alyssa Chetta, and three cherished grandchildren Siena DeLuca, Sofia and Santino Chetta. He also leaves behind his sister Linda Verbanic, brother Nick Chetta Sr, beloved nieces and nephews and countless close friends. His legacy will forever live through his children and cherished family and friends.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 19, at 10:30 AM at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk.
