Rolande Marie Regis was born on September 19, 1966, in Au Cayes Ducis, Haiti. The eldest of four children and a twin, Rolande was deeply cherished by her parents and siblings. From a young age, she radiated compassion and warmth-qualities that shaped her lifelong devotion to serving others.
Guided by a profound love for children and a heart for teaching, Rolande pursued a career in education and dedicated herself to the study of the Bible. In 1992, she immigrated to the United States, where she continued her journey of service through her work with the Board of Education and as a devoted caregiver.
Rolande found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in cooking. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and generosity, where she lovingly prepared meals not only for her family but also for neighbors and friends. Her signature dish, legumes, was a favorite among all who had the privilege of tasting it. She lived with intention-nurturing her body with healthy choices and nurturing others with kindness.
Known for her love and unwavering faith, Rolande was a peacemaker who believed deeply in unity and compassion. She extended a helping hand to anyone in need and carried herself with humility and strength. Even in her final moments, Rolande offered comfort to her loved ones, assuring them that her suffering would soon give way to peace and looked forward to the time when there will be no more
sickness nor death.
Rolande leaves behind a legacy of faith, generosity, and love. She is survived by her beloved mother, Yvette Gaetan; her sister, Ronide Regis; her brother, Mar-Henry Regis; nieces Jenny & Sarah Millien, Mariah & Layana Regis; nephew Marc-Henry Junior Regis; her dear aunt, Adeline Sineus; and a host of cousins and extended family members who will continue to honor her memory.
