John Colbert Obituary
John Colbert, 85 of Lebanon, TN went to heaven on Monday, February 24, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was given the name “PawPaw” by his grands, he fulfilled this role with great joy.
A faithful member of the Laguardo Baptist Church for the past 18 years, he loved Jesus and wanted the world to know his Savior. His favorite Bible verse sums up the Gospel, John 14:6 Jesus says, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
As a young man he served in the US Navy and found himself in the Cuban Crisis aboard the USS John S. McCain.
His truck driving profession took him to all parts of our great country delivering goods, but his favorite trips involved a travel trailer and his bride.
Survived by his wife, Carolyn, of 64 years, and four children, Kenny Colbert (Lanya) of Brentwood, TN, Steve Colbert (Kim) of Lebanon, TN, Tricia Kastens (Joel) of Lebanon, TN, Sharon Goad (Kelly) of Nashville, TN; along with seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and dear friends, who will forever treasure his memory.
Visitation with the family will be at Laguardo Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 6:00 pm. till 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be at 11:00 on Thursday, February 27, 2025, with visitation an hour prior. Bro. Jonathan Jennings will be officiating the service.
Military honors interment will follow at the Harpeth Hills Memorial Garden. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren, Ryan Colbert, Austin Colbert, London Colbert, Kelsey Colbert, Colin Goad, Tristen Goad, and Bria Kastens.
In lieu of flowers donate to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering at Laguardo Baptist Church.
