John "Buster" Cubellis Jr.

John P. "Buster" Cubellis, Jr., 80, of New Castle passed away the evening of June 25, 2025 at the Concordia of Franklin Park.
Buster was born on June 4, 1945 in New Castle to the late John P. and Jennie (Irene) Conti Cubellis, Sr.
On February 5, 1966, he married his beloved wife, the former Anita M. Panella. She preceded him in death on November 30, 1991.
Buster proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Buster retired as a Bricklayer and member of Local Union #9. He also owned and operated Cubellis Market in Bessemer for many years. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish. Buster had many hobbies including skeet shooting and golf. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania Amateur Softball Hall of Fame as part of the Iron Dukes Softball team. More than anything, Buster cherished the time he spent with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Buster is survived by his five children, John P. Cubellis III (Lauren), Joseph Cubellis (Lisa), Joni Lovingood (David), Jennifer Dodson (Scott), and Jeffrey Cubellis (Christy); two brothers, Robert W. Cubellis (Marjory), Donald Cubellis (Amy); ten grandchildren, Alyssa, Mara, Elena (Bryce), Matt, Katie, Andy, Justin, Tyler, Zach, and Colton; and one great-grandson, John.
Family will receive visitors from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29 at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 3000 Wilmington Rd. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites Monday at the Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. A procession will leave the Funeral Home at 12:15 for Holy Spirit Parish – St. Vitus Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Father Aaron Kriss. Interment will be at St. Lucy Cemetery
