John "Dale" Delmar Benton Jr., passed away on January 3, 2024, in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born on August 16, 1943, in Washington D.C. to the late Goldie Catherine (Stone) Sperling and John Dalmar Benton Sr.
Dale led a remarkable life that was filled with hard work, kindness, and a deep love for his family and community. From an early age, he exhibited a strong work ethic and a determination to succeed. After graduating from Arthur Hill High School, John furthered his education by attending Arthur Hill Trade School.
Dale was a dedicated truck driver for Saginaw Rock Products, who retired after numerous years of service. Throughout his career, John displayed exceptional dedication and professionalism. He took great pride in his work and was highly regarded by both his colleagues and superiors. His commitment to his job was unwavering, and he approached every task with diligence and reliability.
Beyond the confines of work, John found solace and joy on the family farm. He cherished spending time outdoors amidst nature's beauty and felt at peace tending to the land. Animals held a special place in his heart, particularly his beloved dogs who were constant companions throughout his life.
Dale's passing leaves behind cherished memories for his family. He is survived by his son Robert Benton; stepfather Raymond Charles Sperling; siblings Linda (Roger) Brock, Rosalind (Cass) Landman, Russell Malicoat, Bruce (Penny) Malicoat, and Charles Sperling; and his step-grandson Scott Vlassis.
Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date and time. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Humane Society. Arrangements were entrusted to W.L.
