1961-2025
Celebrating the life of Eric Day (John Eric Day) born in
Richmond, California February 12, 1961 to parents Norma and adoptive father Morris Day. Eric was preceded in death by his parents. Eric was the Third child of three. He was 64 years old upon his passing in El Sobrante California on December 29, 2025, due to heart failure as a result of chemotherapy treatment from by Diffuse Large B Cell lymphoma (non-Hodgkin Lymphoma)
Eric is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Donna, his two wonderful children Ashley and Kyle, (Samantha) and his beautiful granddaughter Alora. Eric has two surviving siblings, Duane Day, (Rhonda), sister Debbie Day,
Niece Margot Asquith, Nephew Craig Asquith, (Erin)and great niece Alice. He also had a great group of friends, irreplaceable lost long friends and great neighbors who he adored. All who knew him loved him.
He was the organizer and life of the party in his day. He spent a lot of time at Spanish Flat resort at Lake Berryessa where many good times were had. He was fearless and loved to go fast whether it was in a car, boat, motorcycle or barstool.
He wore many hats over his time. He was a drywaller, worked at United Boat Center, then at D & R Marine. He was the owner of Day Prop Repair, then retired as a Class B contractor. He had a Christmas tree lot with a partner in Rodeo during the off season where Donna and the kids learned what true hard work is.
He had a great knack for motor mechanics. He could fix or build anything in minutes with Donna by his side as his "tool pusher".
Eric loved to ride, fish, hunt and racing.
Eric was faithful and loyal. He would stand up to anyone for the right reason even if he stood alone. He was a natural protector and instilled in his children strength, be humble and kind. He always made time to help friends and family and always wanted to be happy.
