He was born November 16, 1991, in Council Bluffs, to Philip and Donaldine "Marie" (Martin) Dea. He was a self-employed farmer and mechanic and a member of Silver Creek Methodist Church in Hancock, Iowa.
John was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Dea, in 2010; great grandparents, William and Cecilia Dea, Henry and Prudence Osbahr; great grandmother, Nona Mae Bissett; great grandfathers, Lloyd Martin, and Fred Holloway.
He is survived by his parents, Phil and Marie Dea of Minden; sisters, Trisha Hendricks and husband John of Underwood, Iowa, Amanda, Jessica, Sophia and Victoria Dea all of Minden; grandparents, Don and Penny Martin of Minden; grandmother, Helen Dea of Shelby, Iowa; great grandparents, Vendita and Merle Bridges of Council Bluffs; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation with the family, Wednesday, 5 to 9 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service, Thursday, 11 a.m., at the mortuary with Rev. Melissa Drake, pastor of Silver Creek Methodist Church officiating. Interment Silver Valley Cemetery, Hancock, Iowa. A lunch will follow at the Minden Community Hall. Memorials to Silver Creek Methodist Church or Minden, Iowa Fire & Rescue Department.
