Passed away at home surrounded by family on May 9, 2023 at the age of 62. John was born on September 20, 1960 in Lansing, MI, son of the late Jacob Jr. and Rebecca "Annie" (Belknap) DeBoer. John worked for General Motors, and owned DeBoer's Maintenance & Lawn Mowing Company. He was a man of many passions, such as, fishing, snake hunting, handyman, catching frogs and turtles with the kids. John's biggest passion in life was his children, and grandchildren, whom all will miss him greatly.
He is survived by his children: John Jr., Justin, Jason (Janell) DeBoer, and Jessica (Josef) Krawciw; grandchildren: Aidan, Vanguard, and Shepard; niece, Alissa DeBoer. John is now joined with his parents, Jacob Jr. and Annie, and also his brother, Leslie DeBoer.
A funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 12, 2023 at with a visitation one hour prior to the service; interment to follow at Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, in loving memory of John DeBoer. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Mills Funeral Home, Peters & Murray Chapel, Grand Ledge.
