Dear Pete and Anita and DeFazio Family

You have my deepest sympathy and wishes for comfort and peace as you get through this very sorrowful time. I remember meeting him at Tambellini“s and also watched him on television long ago. He was a Pittsburgh icon.

I REMEMBER THE VERY FIRST TIME , I MET, JOHN AND MARCI DEFAZIO . I , WAS AT A CHARVALE MEETING AT TONIDALE . WE INTRODUCED OURSELVES TO EACH OTHER AND THAT WAS THE BEGINNING OF A LONG POLITICAL FRIENDSHIP. ANYTIME I WAS HAVING A PROBLEM AND NEEDED HELP I WOULD RUN TO JOHN , WHO ALWAYS HAD AN ANSWER. AFEW YEARS AFTER OUR FIRST MEETING , I WAS AWARDED THE ANGIE GIALLORETO AND ALLEGHENY COUNTY DEMOCRAT OF THE YEAR AWARD . JOHN AND MARCI WERE TO GO ON A TRIP LEAVING THE SAME DAY AS THE AWARD BANQUET. THEY CHANGED THEIR PLAN FOR THE LEAVING DATE. JUST SO THEY COULD BE THERE TO SEE ME RECEIVE MY AWARD. THAT IS WHAT I CALL A REAL FRIEND. AND AFTER ALL THESE YEARS , I , HAVE NEVER FORGOT WHAT A GRACIOUS MAN JOHN WAS. JOHN WAS HONEST , LOYAL AND A TRUE FRIEND TO EVERYONE. I WAS HONORED TO BE ASK TO BE PART OF ONE OF JOHNS COMMERCIALS DURING HIS LAST POLITICAL CAMPAIGN. MARCI AND FAMILY , YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE PROUD OF JOHN WHO LIVED BY VERY HONEST AND TRUE VALUES. JOHN WAS A TRUE FAMILY MAN AND PROUD OF HIS WIFE , CHILDREN , AND GRANDCHILDREN. AND THE ALLEGHENY COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE WAS HONORED TO HAVE JOHN AS A MEMBER. THANK YOU MARCY AND JOHN FOR SHARING PART OF MY POLITICAL LIFE. REST EASY , "MR COUNTY COUNCIL PRESIDENT"YOU HAVE MADE US ALL PROUD. SINCERE BEST WISHES TO MARCI AND HER FAMILY . NORMA J. McCUEN , CHAIR , FINDLAY TWP DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE
