Mr. John Kevin Detherage, 57, of Barbourville, passed away Wednesday evening, July 17, 2024 at his home. He was the son of Sandra Daniels Detherage and the late John Green Detherage born on July 14, 1967 in Barbourville.
Kevin was a bus monitor with the Knox County Public Schools and a member of the Parkway Church of God. He found joy in playing computer games, fishing, was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and a former Knox County Little League coach.
On August 4, 2001, he united in marriage with Rebecca Lynn Partin and to this union two children were born.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rebecca Lynn Detherage of Barbourville; mother, Sandra Detherage of Barbourville; children, Haley Danielle Detherage and fiancé, Jake Stewart, and John Mark Green Detherage all of Barbourville; a sister, April Lynn Detherage Groves and husband, John, of Bowling Green; grandmother, June Daniels of Bimble; a grandson, Bentley Ryan Stewart; uncle, Rodney Daniels; cousins, Chadd Daniels and wife, Leigh, and Jim Mike Detherage; brothers-in-law, Randy Partin and wife, Angel, Jeremiah Partin and wife, Carrie, and Christopher Partin and wife, Heather; niece and nephews, Breanna Partin, Zach Partin, Conner Partin, Cory Partin and Ian Partin; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, July 25 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Ricky Partin officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Chadd Daniels, Rodney Daniels, Jim Mike Detherage, Jeremiah Partin, Christopher Partin, Matt Bargo and Jimmie Mills. Honorary bearers will be Patrick Detherage, Jake Stewart, Jae Pae, Dennis Dozier, William Young, John Groves, Dr. Tom Ashburn, Joseph Haban and Daryl Shepherd.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Thursday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
