John Dougher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cavanagh Family Funeral Homes, Inc. & Private Crematory - Norwood on Nov. 30, 2025.
John Michael Dougher, 62, of Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 27, 2025. Born on February 8, 1963, John was raised in Sharon Hill and was a member of Holy Spirit Parish. He graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in 1981 and later attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia.
John was an artist in everything he did. His attention to detail was unmatched, whether he was drawing, cooking, or crafting something by hand. He was an incredible chef, and his family will forever miss the meals he lovingly prepared. A true lover of nostalgia, John was an avid collector and had a deep appreciation for music. He played both guitar and harmonica, though the harmonica was his true favorite-lighting up the room as he played along to the songs he cherished.
John found joy in the simple pleasures-tending to his garden, keeping the best lawn on the block, and especially decorating for the holidays. Halloween was his absolute favorite. He was also a devoted fan of NASCAR, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Phillies. Above all, John loved his family. He never forgot a birthday and enjoyed surprising loved ones with thoughtful gifts.
He was the loving father of Melanie Dougher (Bob), Ross Dougher, Thomas Dougher, and Olivia Dougher; and the cherished Pop-Pop of Violet Kling and Amelia Kling. John is also survived by his beloved siblings: Colleen Dougher-Fail (Steven), Molly Dougher-Collington (Dennis), and Christopher Dougher. Proud uncle to Courtney Fail-Taylor (Jake), Nancy Fail, and Bailey Collington. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Michael Dougher Sr. and Nancy C. Gable-Dougher, as well as his nephew, Sam Collington.
John was truly one of a kind-His sharp, sarcastic humor and unforgettable one-liners made him impossible not to love. He wasn't gentle, but he was genuine, loyal, and full of heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in the arms of our Lord, reunited with his mom and dad. Until we meet again-we love you.
Relative and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, (12/5/2025), 9:30AM to 11AM, in the Church of St Gabriel, 233 Mohawk Ave, Norwood, PA 19074, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11AM. Interment for family only to follow in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
