William P. Dougher, 70, of Bradenton, formerly of Piscataway, NJ, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
Bill was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on May 29,1955. He was the son of the late William G. and Mary B. Dougher (Morrissey). He was a graduate of St. Pius X High School in Piscataway, New Jersey.
Bill served his country in the U.S. Army for 11 years and was stationed in Germany for several years. After completing his military service, he was employed in the printing trade. Bill was the HOA President in his Bradenton condo community leading numerous upgrades and improvements. He was a kind and generous person who cherished the company of the many friends who graced his life. Bill enjoyed helping his neighbors and welcoming the snowbirds home each winter.
Bill loved all sports, especially baseball and football. He was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. A seasoned and accomplished baseball umpire, Bill officiated at the high school and college levels, as well as at Major League Baseball spring training in Florida and the prestigious Senior League World Series in Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary, in 2013; his father, William, in 2020; his sister, Tara Donato, in 2023; and his niece, Meghan Donato, in 2023.
Bill is survived by his brothers, Sean (Faith) Dougher of Kissimmee, FL, and Brendan (Marianne) Dougher of San Diego, CA; his nieces and nephews, Maureen Garguilo, Allison Donato, Shannon Boyle, Collin Dougher, Erin Dougher, Caitlyn Dougher, and Brendan B. Dougher; his great-niece, Calista Garguilo; his great-nephew, Rolando Zeledon; and numerous cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 28, 2026, at St. Andrew Parish, 316 Parrish St, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township, PA.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the tidewellfoundation.org/donate (Hospice) in Bill’s memory.
