Ann Dougher Obituary
Funeral services for Ann J. Dougher will be at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday from John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, followed by Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas-St. Mary Parish, Wilkes-Barre. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ann Dougher was a wonderful, warm, and kind person. As a step-niece, I came late into the family, but Aunt Ann always extended herself to make me and my family feel included, accepted and loved. She taught me many things, like how to make chicken soup that would feed a crowd. More importantly, she was very wise. I will forever remember the gentle guidance and encouragement that she taught me by `holding grace´. One afternoon at her home, I was complaining about having to grade student papers. In one quiet sentence she told me that I was gifted with the honor and opportunity to learn about others and their inner most thoughts by reading those papers. That sentence sits with me almost every day. She transformed me into not just a better teacher but more importantly a better person. She just had that effect on others. I will miss her with all of my heart and am sending my love to all of you who will feel the hole left in this universe without her.
