John David Drowns, Jr. age 59, has joined our Heavenly Father as of Friday, April 25th, 2025 at 4:35am.
He is survived by his devoted wife Amrita Roopnarine and their loving son Jordan Phelps.
John was born to John David Drowns, Sr. and Sandra Newcomb; brother of Michael Styrk, Kimberly Harris, and Allison Ford, and the late Deanna Harris.
Known for his boisterous and larger-than-life presence, John lived with a boldness and unfettered zest for life that drew many to him. And whilst he may have been brash, his wit and devilish charm made it easy to overlook any boundaries he may have crossed. You couldn't help but want to be in his presence. John was a complex man, and although he burned with the intensity of the sun, beneath that was a soft heart, keenly aware of the struggles of his fellow man. His acts of kindness were frequent and freely given, whether is was paying for strangers groceries or rescuing a stray animal. His gentle spirit and tremendous generosity knew no bounds. He will be dearly missed by friends and family alike.
John embodied:
"Love is eternal -- the aspect may change, but not the essence." (Vincent Van Gogh)

"Come to me all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls."
(Matthew 11:28-29)
