John Duncan age 87 of Nixa, Missouri passed away Friday, January 31, 2025.
John was born to James E. and Hazel G. (Smith) Duncan in Village, Arkansas on October 29, 1937.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by all.
John was married to Wanda (Anderson) for 51 years and they had two children – Kim and Jeff.
John served in the United States Air Force for 21 years achieving the rank of Senior Master Sargent. He earned many accommodations including the Meritorious Service Medal.
After retiring from the USAF, John moved his family to Fort Worth, Texas to begin his second career at General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin as a technical publication writer for the F-16 program. He was promoted to Logistics and then to Chief on the A-12 project.
John held a Bachelor of Science degree from East Texas State University.
John was preceded in death by his parents, James & Hazel Duncan; brothers James and Jack Duncan; sister Geraldine Matthews; beloved wife, Wanda and fiancée Roberta Gipson.
John is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Rushing (husband Mark) and son, Jeffrey Duncan (wife Karen). He leaves behind four grandsons: Jeremiah Rushing (wife Melisa), Christopher Rushing (wife Jennifer), Joshua Duncan (wife Charlotte), Shawn Duncan (wife Lauren), and four great-grandchildren: Camden Rushing, Melani Rushing, Scarlett Rushing and Blaise Rushing.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
