Phairey Ann Parris Ramey was born on April 29, 1935 in Rocky Branch, Texas to Joe and Lorena Parris. She passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at her home in Daingerfield, while surrounded by her loving family. Phairey was raised in Rocky Branch and after graduating from Daingerfield High School, she attended East Texas State University. She married the love of her life, James Edgar Ramey on January 15, 1955. Phairey was employed by Daingerfield/Lone Star ISD and Austin County Educational Cooperative when she retired. Phairey loved the Lord and was a long-time member of the Daingerfield Church of Christ where she was active in many groups throughout the years. Branson, Missouri held a special place in Phairey's heart and she greatly enjoyed planning trips there and sharing it with anyone who wanted to tag along. She enjoyed working in the yard and was known to have the "best looking yard on the block." Phairey was an avid golfer for most of her life and amazingly made 4 hole-in-ones! Phairey also loved to play bridge and even at 90 was still playing as often as possible. She loved her family, Daingerfield football, garage sales, watching "Reba" and "The Wheel" and she loved her milk. Phairey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jim Ramey and her daughter Becky Parks. She is survived by her son Jim Ramey and wife Judy; daughter Kathy Hayes; son-in-law Will Parks; grandchildren Jamie Berry and husband Jeff, Jeramey Martin and fiancé Ashly Bruton, Angela Sherrard and husband Spencer, Scott Hayes, Ramey Hayes and Lindsay Ramey and fiancé Ashley Ray; great-grandchildren Hunter Berry and wife Abby, Karrigan Berry, Jacob Wylie, Jordyn Martin, Justin Martin, Mattison Holland, Mallory Holland, Reagan Luper, Drew Sherrard, Jack Sherrard and Brooks Sherrard; and great-great-granddaughter Kimberly Berry. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Daingerfield Church of Christ, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Daingerfield Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.
