Funeral service for Maggie Virginia Ramey, 98, of Anniston, will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Rev Earl Tucker will be officiating and burial will follow the service in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

Maggie passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ramey; parents, Sam and Roxie Powell; son, Rickey Ramey Sr.; daughters, Donna Jo Ramey and Nancy Ramey; son in law, Jim Floyd.

Maggie is survived by her children, Frankie Ramey, Stevie (Kim) Ramey, Kay Swanson, Jeanie Floyd (Darneal Bedford), David Ramey (Pat), Timmy (Sharon) Ramey, and Laurie Ramey; she was blessed with 19 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; and 22 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rickey Ramey, Jr., Jesse Summers, Matthew Ramey, Danny Summers, Justin Ramey, and Austin Dyer.

Maggie was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church. She was a devoted Christian and a preacher's wife. She was born in Boaz and a lifelong resident of Anniston. She was raised on a farm and loved flowers and gardening. She was an avid Alabama Football fan and Atlanta Braves fan. She was a homemaker and loved her family and her fur babies deeply. To know Maggie was to love her and she will forever be missed.

The family would like to extend special appreciation to Enhabit Home Health and Hospice for their continued support and care, to include Hannah Stewart and Barry Wilkes, along with special thanks to her caregivers, Hannah Smith, Sherry Henson, Joy Lynn Thompson, and Carolynn "Babygirl" Ramey.
